Why is my Allison MD3060 blank selector shifter not working?
The constant movement of the engine, caused pulling of the harness between the fixed and moveable points causing the sharp edges to cut into the insulation and subsiquently wire #N92A cutting off the power to terminals 1 and 16 of the ECU. Once this was repaired and installed the truck could then start and drive again.
What to do if your Allison shift pad has no power?
If no power when the key is on check the small post, if only one it should be positive (Hot with the key on) or if two small post one is hot and one is ground (with the key on). If you have power to th small post but still only have power to one side of the solenoid then you have a bad solenoid.

Without power and ground to the noted terminals the display will not illuminate and unfortunately the engine will not start, as this is also your Netural Safety Device. Measure the contacts – normally closed is the non powered state and a ‘0″ resistance is the reading – the normally open state reads no resistance (infinity) One can power them using a good 9 volt battery to power the coil in most cases for the medium power relays – may not work for the high power contractors.
