Why does my Cummins ISL run for 30 sec?
I unhooked the line at the tank and dropped it into a jug of diesel up front to make sure it wasnt the fuel pickup in the tank pulling the air since the fuel tank is 3/4 full. The little beads of fuel over the on the fuel lines in the basement area actually made me happy I was headed in the right direction.

There is a wire coming from the battery to the ignition switch then to a 5 amp fuse which leads to the other side of the ECM. As it turns out since the main problem was communication from the ECM to the multiplex wiring system. When poor networking is detected the J1939 system is tested for proper resistance.

Can a Cummins ISX stay running long enough?
There is no way I could make it to the cummins shop it wont stay running long enough. It will rev up but no matter at 1600 rpm it will shut down, Got it warmed up to 160 still shut down. Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.
