Where Does Pepperoni Come From

Pepni belongs to the strict symmetry of Italy.

In English, papni refers to dried pork, veal, and most variations of Italian-American beef. Peppni is of Salami and southern Italian descent, as is Napoletana piccante salsiccia, a dried pork from Naples. Pepni is often used as a pizza topping in American-style pizzerias. This is the most unsafe pizza topping in North America.

Pepni is one of the papni, the Italian plural of papni, meaning pepper. That's why ordering Pepni Pizza in Italy is often an unpleasant surprise for American tourists. To order the American version of Peppni in Italy, you will order Salame Piccante (and Salami, usually from Calabria). In continental Europe, papani is a common term for many types of capsicum, including pepper and bell pepper, often used as pickles in Italy, and occasionally in the United States as pipansini. Unlike in Europe, English words are used as nouns which cannot be counted in singular.

Pepni peak ...

If I weren't from Italy I wouldn't be eating. American food is basically tasteless and inedible and comes from all meats when consumed. I think it's just a difference in taste.
