The Safari manufacturer incorporated the smaller Trek with same interior quality of its longer premium coaches i.e. solid alder wood cabinetry and appliances. Safari was taken over by Monaco in early 2000 and quality was sacrificed. Safari Treks are held in such esteem that they have an almost cult following with “TrekKi” clubs nationwide. P.S.

Is the arm of a Monaco RV dangerous?
NHSTA didn’t think they could do anything because Monaco is out of business and the “new” Monaco appears to be under no legal obligation to accept responsibility. The arm’s crack, allowing excessive rear suspension movement AND CAN BE DANGEROUS, as the arm holds the axle in place front to rear. Monaco doesn’t supply the parts any more.

When did Monaco Coach Stop Making the Safari?
Safari focused on the construction of Class A and Class C adventure-oriented motorhomes. The Class A motorhomes in the Safari line ranges up to 45 feet in length. The Safari brand was discontinued after the 2009 model year when Monaco Coach Corporation was sold to Navistar. MOTORHOMES – No longer producing this line after 2009.

Where was the first Safari Motor Coach built?
First built for the 1992 model year in Harrisburg, Oregon, with the last coming off Monaco’s Coburg, Oregon, line in 2008, the Trek never really strayed from its ‘roots’. Its unique features never really changed.
Are there any recalls on the Monaco Roadmaster?
The recall essentially includes any R4R or RR4R Monaco Roadmaster chassis produced after the 2002 model year. This change was made as a running change and it is possible that some very late 2002 models could be effected. 2002, 2003 and some 2004 Monaco Knight, Cayman, HR Ambassador, Neptune, Safari Cheetah, Sahara and Zanzibar.
