It is shaped like a mango but is small and the skin turns yellow when ripe. The inside isn't as big as a mango, but there are some similarities in taste. Apparently it is also called Citara (sp?) Or Jobo from India.

An underestimated member of the Anacardiaceae who deserves improvement is Ambarella, Spondias dulcis Forst. (Sin. S. Cytherea Sonn.) Some common names are Otaheite Apple, Tahiti quince, Polynesian plum, Jewish plum, and Golden Apple. In Malaysia it is called Big Plum or Caden in Indonesia, Ke in Thailand, Makokfrang in Chemistry, Mokak in Vietnam, Coc, Me Cythere or Mier de Cythere. In Costa Rica it is known as Juplón in Coloma, Bund Bo in Venezuela, Jobo from India, Jobo do Indio or Mango Jobo in Ecuador, Golden Apple in Zil, Cajamanga.
