Is it OK to use a motorized awning?
While most companies will warranty the motorized components for a certain period of time, it can still be a pain to deal with while you are waiting on the service call. A motorized awning that needs to be pulled open and closed manually will defeat the purpose of having a motorized awning to begin with.
Is there a way to manually retract an awning?
If you have a motorized awning, be sure that the automatic retraction feature is turned off during manual retraction. Depending on the type of awning you have, the manual lever rod may be attached or removable. The tip of the rod should be inserted into the retracting mechanism, which may be hidden when the awning is open.
What to do if your awning is overextended?
Make sure the torsion or square bar is securely seated in the mounting brackets and then tighten the mounting bolt to draw the locking lip entirely over the bar. When your awning is overextended, the fabric of your retractable awning may begin to sag or get loose.
What to do if you have mold on your awning?
The combination of water and heat that awnings are exposed to can create fertile ground for mold growth. At the first sign of mold growth, removal of mold on awnings can be accomplished by spraying your awning completely with a hose and then applying a mildew remover.

How do you close an awning on an RV?
Twist and loosen the rafter knobs, allowing you to pull back the inner arms into the RV. Continue pulling the inner arms until they click into place. Next simply lower the rafter arms until they click into place. Flip the locking lever until it hits the Roll-Up or Close mode. Taking hold of the strap loop, stand in the middle of the awning shade.
