How many motorhomes can a Cummins 250 diesel pull?
That went out the window back in the early 1970’s when they were using Cummins 250 diesels to pull double bottom flat bed loads grossing 130,000 lbs from Buffalo to Detroit! Think that works out to the equivalent of 4 to 5 motorhomes and one 250 Cummins engine.
What kind of engine is in a Cummins RV?
The spec’s say it comes with a Cummins 340 ISB Diesel engine. I have seen other RV’s with Cummins 360 ISC or some other notation and I’m trying to determine if the 340 is a large enough engine to provide the kind of power we’ll need.

How much torque does a Cummins diesel have?
For the loads you’re considering, I would consider a diesel with more than 900 lbs-ft of torque (I would assume that the GCVW is in the range of 35,000 lbs). These engines (>900 lbs-ft torque) are going to be in the “C” family of engines for the Cummins.

Can a 350 hp engine handle 30, 000 lbs?
I can’t help but laugh. Most everyone is agreeing the 350 hp is fine for a 30,000 lb MH———–but how many have you have also posted that a gas engine (now 340 or 362 hp depending on whether it’s a Workhorse of Ford) won’t handle a 38′ MH at 26,000 lbs???
