741.0305 Discounted marriage fee for completing marriage preparation course.
(1) Men and women who wish to obtain a marriage certificate under Article 741.04 may attend a preparation course for at least 4 months together or individually. 1. Psychologist licensed under Chapter 490.
2. Medical social worker licensed under Chapter 491.
3. Chapter 491 approves marriage and family.
4. Chapter 491 Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
5. An official representative of a religious institution referred to in Article 496,404 (19), if the representative has proper training.
6. Other providers appointed by the court, including not limited to school counselors, are authorized to provide such courses. Each court can make a list of regional course providers, including those that offer courses on a graded or free basis.
(b) The candidate bears the cost of this preparation course.
(4) Each preparation course provider must complete each part of the course with a certificate of completion stating the name of the section and the date of graduation, and whether the course is subject to face-to-face instruction, video instruction or instruction.
