Classify These Salts As Acidic Basic Or Neutral
Classify these salts as acidic, basic, or neutral. KCL, NH4Br, K2CO3, NaCN, LiClO4? 3
I typed the following, but it was incorrect:
KCl = base
NH4Br = acid
K2CO3 = base
NaCN = base
LiClO = Neutral
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, thanks.
As a general rule, a strong acid with a strong base forms a neutral salt, but a weak base forms an acidic salt. Similarly, a strong base produces a base with a neutral salt and a strong acid and a weak acid.
KCl should be neutral in your answer, everything else is correct.

KCl = Neutral salt of strong acid (HCl) and strong base (KOH)
NH4Br = acid
K2CO3 = base
NaCN = base
LiClO = a strong base base salt (LiOH) and a weak acid (HClO)
Three in the middle is correct.
In my opinion, sodium cyanide is not alkaline? Is this lol ??? Do you have lithium oxygen chlorine? If any ??? If it's there then I don't think it's alkaline ??? Salt cannot make acids or bases ... Salt is a salt ... Acetate chloride ... Salt is ...
