My 420cn doesn't print or is ■■■■.

Unplug the connector for a few seconds, then reconnect. Restart the computer. It almost always solves the problem.

My brother MFC470DW doesn't shut down, I disconnected it several times. I rebooted the system and it still doesn't shut down. Everything I see on the screen is a print ... but there is no pending work based on the print log. Anyway, when you plug it in again, the ignition beeps but does nothing else, any suggestions?

Have you tried pulling the plug? It can break and not die. Plug in, reapply, and plug again. When it's fully turned on and ready to print, turn it off and see if it shuts down.
Remove and reinstall. Maybe that's how it hangs.
