All KEEN water sandals (both leather and polyester webbing upper) are machine washable on a gentle cycle, in cold water and with a mild detergent. Please allow to air dry. We’ve taken great care to develop leather uppers that will not crack, shrink, or stretch when washed.
How do you get the smell out of Keens?
Simply wash the footbed with mild soap and water. Allow time to dry. Some sandals, like Keens, can even be thrown into the wash on the cold cycle with a small amount of detergent and then set out to air dry, preferably in the sun.

This is the same time that we officially started suggesting a 1/2 size up from your normal KEEN size, but they’ve always fit a little small.

This is usually listed on the inner heel or tongue. The label should tell you if you can machine dry them or if you need to air dry them. For example, if you see a square, with an X in it, don’t dry them in the machine. If there’s a circle in the square, you can dry the shoes with low heat.
