Aicte
AICTE is an abbreviation for All India Council for Technical Education. AICTE is the statutory body and national council for technical education in the country. AICTE was founded in November 1945 with the aim of promoting the development of the education system in India. Until 1987, it acted as an advisory body to the Ministry of Education of the Ministry of Human Resources Development. In 1987, a law gave it legal status, allowing it to operate more efficiently. AICTE is the body responsible for the accreditation of all graduate and postgraduate programs in certain categories of technology for Indian institutions. This is the main difference from UGC (University Grants Commission) as UGC only accredits non-technical education in India.
